H.E. President Muse Bihi Abdi visited the coastal city of Berbera on Tuesday, after returning from Buroa, where he attended the Kulmiye conference. He was accompanied by a delegation of government officials, including the Minister of Health Development, Hassan Mohamed Ali (Gafadhi).
In the afternoon, President Bihi laid the foundation stone for a new mental health facility in Berbera District. The old mental health facility, known locally as the “Crazy Prison,” was built 93 years ago and is no longer fit for purpose. The new facility will be a modern, state-of-the-art facility that will provide much-needed care for people with mental health conditions.
President Bihi also expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the construction of the new mental health facility, and the Mayor of Berbera, Abdishakur Mohamud Hassan Cidin, for his hard work and dedication in developing the city.
The president’s visit to Berbera was well-received by the local population. They expressed their gratitude for his continued support for the city and its development.
