President Abdirahman Irro’s New Year’s Address to the People of Somaliland
To the honorable people of Somaliland, both at home and abroad,
As we welcome the New Year 2025, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Somalilanders, including our dedicated civil servants, the courageous members of our armed forces, and their families.
I pray that Allah makes this year one of peace, prosperity, and significant achievements for our beloved Republic of Somaliland.
My fellow citizens,
The challenges ahead—be they in security, economic resilience, or social cohesion—require our collective resolve and unity. Together, with determination and cooperation, we can overcome these obstacles and realize our national aspirations.
As your President, I am committed to upholding unity, delivering tangible progress, and serving the people who have entrusted me with their confidence. My administration is guided by the principles of inclusivity and transparency, and my office remains open to your concerns, ideas, and constructive feedback.
Accountability is essential to good governance. I encourage you to evaluate our work, provide guidance, and offer constructive criticism. Rest assured, your feedback will be met with respect, humility, and a genuine commitment to improvement.
I commend your unwavering dedication to nation-building, fostering progress, and preserving peace. Your efforts inspire hope and strengthen the foundation of our Republic. I urge you to continue working towards unity, shared prosperity, and safeguarding the sovereignty of Somaliland.
In our dealings with neighboring nations and the international community, Somaliland remains steadfast in promoting mutual respect, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence. Peace will always be the cornerstone of our foreign relations.
As we celebrate this New Year, I call on every citizen to prioritize security, uphold our shared values, and embody the moral principles of our faith.
