The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), has today issued Presidential Decree No. JSL/XM/WM/222-017/122024, appointing a Special Envoy to the President of the Republic of Somaliland.
The decree, issued in accordance with the powers vested in the President by the Constitution, reads as follows:

Subject: Appointment of Special Envoy
By virtue of the authority vested in me under the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland, and upon careful consideration of the following:
- Article 90 of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland;
- The critical role of the Special Envoy to the President in executing specific, high-priority responsibilities;
- The qualifications, competence, and extensive experience of the appointee, ensuring his capability to undertake this significant duty;
- Following consultations with relevant stakeholders;
I hereby appoint:
Ahmed Abdirahman Sheikh Bashir to serve as the Special Envoy to the President of the Republic of Somaliland, effective immediately.
