Somaliland: President Bihi Inaugurates National Examinations

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, has inaugurated the certificate examinations for senior secondary school students and eighth-grade students in primary and middle schools, which officially started today.

The president, along with the heads of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Examinations Office, inaugurated the examination at Farah Omaar High School in central Hargeisa and distributed test copies to the students in the classrooms.

Mr. Daoud Ahmed Farah, Chairman of the National Examinations Office, emphasized their responsibility to protect the official exam copies and expressed confidence in the process. Dr. Ahmed Aden Buxane, Minister of Education and Science, highlighted the nationwide start of the exams this morning and confirmed they have reached all designated locations.

Prior to the commencement of the Mandated Students Examination, President Muse Bihi Abdi emphasized the pivotal role exams play as a milestone in life, a common experience for many. He discussed the stages of educational implementation in the country, highlighting that over 38,000 students are participating in this year’s exams across high and primary schools.

President Muse Bihi Abdi wished the students success, encouraging them to take the exams with positivity and high hopes. He urged them to approach the exam with courage and determination, reassuring them that they will get into universities and succeed.

This year, a total of 38,489 students are sitting for the national exam, including 15,542 high school students and 22,947 elementary and middle school students across the country.
