The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, last Thursday conducted an inspection of several development projects being carried out by the government in the capital city of Hargeisa.
Accompanied by members of the cabinet, the governor of Marodi-Jeix region, the mayor of Hargeisa, and other government officials, President Bihi visited various sites to assess the progress of these projects. The areas inspected included the newly implemented Berkedo water project, aimed at ensuring sufficient water supply to the capital’s districts. The President also visited the Egal International Airport and the National Museum, where he observed the advancements made in these national projects.
During the inspection, President Abdi first examined a new water storage reservoir in the A/Dhagax district. The reservoir, which is nearing completion, is intended to store drinking water for the local community. The President received a detailed report from Mr. Mohamed Ali Darood, the Director of the Hargeisa Water Agency, as well as other officials responsible for the construction of the reservoir. These individuals have been diligently working to enhance the water supply in the capital.
Additionally, President Abdi and his delegation visited the Egal International Airport to assess its operations and services provided to travelers and exporters. The President also inspected the airport’s buildings and received a report from Mr. Omar Abdilahi Adan (Umar-Sayed), the airport’s general manager, regarding the implementation of new security measures.
Lastly, President Abdi concluded his inspection by visiting the National Museum, situated in the heart of Hargeisa. The museum, which is nearly complete, showcases various exhibits and cultural artifacts. During the visit, the President examined different floors of the building and received a construction progress report from Mr. Mohamed Ali Bile, the director general of the presidency.
