The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, and a delegation led by him were warmly welcomed in Sheikh district in the Sahil region on Tuesday.
Thousands of people lined the streets of Sheikh city to welcome the president, waving the flag of Somaliland and cheering his name. The president and his delegation were then escorted to a local venue where they were greeted by local leaders and dignitaries.
In his speech, President Bihi thanked the people of Sheikh for their warm welcome and said that their hospitality was a reflection of the strong bond between the people of Somaliland. He also spoke about the progress that the government has made in recent years, and pledged to continue working to improve the lives of all Somalilanders.
The president also visited the Sheikh Ibrahim High School, where he inaugurated a new hall that will be used by students preparing for examinations.
The president’s visit to Sheikh was a positive sign of the strong support that he enjoys among the people of Somaliland. It is also a testament to the progress that the country has made in recent years.
