The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, last night hosted a Ramadan iftar and dinner for religious leaders from all regions of the country.
The (Iftar) dinner was held at the presidential palace in Hargeisa. Present at the function and accompanying President Bihi was the Vice President of Somaliland, H.E Abdirahman Abdilaahi Ismail (Saylici). Also occasioning the event was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon. Adan Haji Ali Ahmed along with various members of the cabinet.
The Minister of Religion and Endowments of the Republic of Somaliland, Sheekh Abdirisaaq Hussein Ali (Albany), thanked the president for honoring the country’s scholars and the importance he always gives to the advice of Ahlu Deen.
President Bihi concluded the dinner by thanking the religious scholars for their unwavering dedication and patriotic contributions to Somaliland.
“The government of Somaliland once again urges all sides to adhere to the unilateral ceasefire declared by Somaliland on 10 February 2023. As on previous occasions, to minimize risk to the lives of civilians, the Somaliland National army resisted attempts by the attackers to draw into civilian inhabited areas and no civilian casualties have been reported by the Somaliland authorities,” said President Musa Bihi.
