The incumbent president of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi has today received the UN Special Representative to Somaliland and Somalia James Swan.
In a press release held at the Presidential Palace, the Finance Minister Dr Saad Ali Shire stated that the Mr Swan discussed the president on a wide range of issues pertaining the UN humanitarian tasks in Somaliland, upcoming local and parliamentary elections, conflict resolution, security and bolstering bilateral ties between the two sides.
Mr Swan, on the other hand, acknowledged the Republic of Somaliland for the cordial welcome accorded to him. He likewise urged Somaliland to continue its pursuit to tangible developments. Speaking about the UN operations in Somaliland, the envoy revealed that the United Nations will continue working with the government of Somaliland.
